An attachment may contain potentially dangerous content: scan extracted files before use.
MIME type metadata is not always present: the file extension is not a guarantee.

Can a PDF really contain files?

Yes. The PDF format supports embedded files via the name tree.

Does the tool delete attachments?

No, it extracts and/or lists. To clean a PDF, use a 'sanitization' tool instead.

I don't see any attachments, is that normal?

Yes: most PDFs do not contain any. The tool is specifically designed to check.

If you need to share the document, consider running 'Clean / sanitize a PDF' after extraction to remove attachments and reduce risks.
