A JSON export of detected images (per page): width/height, bpc, color space, filters, object identifiers.

The same image can be reused on multiple pages: the JSON may reference the same resource multiple times.
The tool describes the internal PDF images, not necessarily the "actual displayed size" on the screen (which depends on transformations).
Some images may be "inline" in the content and harder to inventory depending on the PDF.

Can I retrieve the image files?

This tool mainly provides an inventory. If you need binary extraction, use a dedicated image extractor.

Why is the dimension huge when the image is small?

Because the image may be drawn with a scaling factor on the page: the resource remains large.

What filter corresponds to a JPEG?

The most common is DCTDecode (JPEG). JPXDecode often corresponds to JPEG2000.

To optimize a PDF, start with "PDF Images → JSON," then target only the problematic pages/resources instead of recompressing blindly.
